European health systems are under increasing pressure from ageing populations, workforce shortages, rising costs, and the long-term impacts of COVID-19. With chronic diseases accounting for the majority of healthcare spending, investing in prevention is no longer optional but essential.

The Horizon Europe-funded Invest4Health project addresses this challenge through Smart Capacitating Investment (SCI), an approach that treats prevention as a long-term social and economic investment. Over three years, the project has developed and tested innovative financing models across European regions, combining financial and non-financial resources, strengthening cross-sector collaboration, and generating evidence to support implementation and scaling.

This final event marks the transition from project results to real-world uptake. It brings together policymakers, investors, researchers, and practitioners to explore how innovative financing approaches can be scaled and embedded into health systems, supporting more equitable and sustainable outcomes.
