The final event of the European Commission’s Technical Support Instrument project on enhancing regional access to and performance in EU initiatives and funds will bring together regional, national and European stakeholders to discuss how regions can better navigate, mobilise and benefit from EU funding opportunities. Drawing on OECD work with the Brussels-Capital Region, Silesia, Thuringia and Wallonia, the event will highlight practical lessons on strengthening administrative capacity and improving governance across the EU funding cycle.

The event will take stock of the project’s main results, showing how tools such as regional diagnostics, strategic action plans and implementation roadmaps can help regions better understand their funding ecosystems. It will also explore how to better identify funding opportunities, address persistent challenges and support broader objectives linked to competitiveness, resilience, and socially inclusive, green and digital transitions.

Building on the perspectives of the participating regions, the event will open a forward-looking discussion on how the project’s findings can inform wider regional practice and future approaches to EU funding. In particular, it will provide an opportunity to exchange on shared challenges, promising responses and possible next steps in the context of preparations for the next Multiannual Financial Framework.
