Kungsbacka municipality is now being marked with crane scans. This means that we choose tap water instead of purchased bottled water. It will be both cheaper and better for the environment.
Tap water eliminates the transport and manufacture of water bottles that cause unnecessary carbon dioxide emissions and waste. This makes a litre of tap water
The kranmärkningen means that we put up stickers and information signs that we are this. We encourage employees to use a glass or water bottle and avoid buying water in the workplace. At the municipality we have water dispensers with cooled and carbonated tap water in many workplaces. When we book conferences, trainings and the like, we always order tap water instead of bottled water.
Tap-marked does not mean that individual employees are prohibited from drinking purchased bottled water at the workplace. If employees choose bottled water for their own money, that's their business. But when we as a municipality place orders in the service, we should always choose tap water.
National sustainability labelling
Kranmärkt is a national sustainability label for activities that choose tap water over bottled water, on the initiative of the trade association Swedish Water. It is not a certification, which means that we ourselves are responsible for living up to what it means to be crane marked.
