- Unit/Service: Unit IIT.2 – Digital Demand and Delivery
- Grade: AD5-AD12
- Location: Brussels

Your job and responsibilities
Are you passionate about turning artificial intelligence (AI) opportunities into practical, production-ready solutions? Do you combine hands-on experimentation with the discipline to deliver secure, scalable and compliant AI services in a public-sector environment?
As an AI Solution Delivery Expert in the AI & Data Team of the Directorate for Innovation and Information Technology (DIIT), you will help identify high-value AI opportunities, design and pilot practical solutions, and work with internal teams, stakeholders and external providers to move successful use cases into production.
You will play a key role in turning AI from exploration into real operational value across the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and the European Committee of the Regions (CoR). This means not only spotting opportunities, but also helping to shape, test, integrate and scale solutions that are useful, sustainable and trustworthy. Working in a multidisciplinary environment, you will combine business understanding, practical AI knowledge, project delivery discipline and a strong focus on measurable impact. You will be expected to challenge ideas critically, prioritise pragmatically, and help ensure that AI initiatives deliver real added value rather than remaining isolated pilots.
Your responsibilities will be to:
Identify and shape AI opportunities by working closely with business stakeholders to understand needs, challenge assumptions, assess feasibility, and prioritise use cases with clear operational value and realistic implementation potential;
Translate opportunities into deliverable solutions by defining use cases, success criteria, functional needs, delivery approaches and pragmatic implementation options adapted to the institutional environment;
Design, prototype and pilot AI solutions such as AI agents, workflow automations or other AI-enabled services, testing ideas rapidly and iterating based on evidence, user feedback and technical constraints;
Move successful pilots into production by working with DIIT teams and external providers to integrate solutions into business processes, enterprise tools, systems and data environments, ensuring that they are robust, supportable and fit for sustained use;
Ensure solution quality and production readiness by defining evaluation and acceptance criteria, overseeing testing and validation, supporting documentation, monitoring performance after deployment, and helping manage continuous improvement;
Contribute to scalable AI service delivery by helping establish repeatable approaches, delivery patterns and governance mechanisms that make it easier to industrialise successful use cases across the Committees;
Support the responsible deployment of AI by addressing relevant security, data protection, ethical, risk-management and regulatory considerations, and by working with the appropriate governance and compliance actors to support alignment with the EU AI Act and related frameworks;
Drive adoption and business value delivery by supporting training, awareness, change management and user engagement activities that help staff confidently adopt AI solutions and use them effectively in practice;
Facilitate collaboration and decision-making by preparing and leading discussions with users, stakeholders and providers, synthesising outcomes clearly, and presenting structured recommendations that weigh value, cost, risk, complexity and sustainability;
Contribute to team and institutional priorities by supporting cross-cutting initiatives, sharing knowledge, contributing to innovation and continuous improvement, and bringing a collaborative, delivery-oriented and solutions-focused mindset to the team.
Are you the talent we are looking for?
