Organised jointly by the Government of the Prešov Self-governing Region (Slovakia) and the European Committee of the Regions (CoR), the seminar will discuss how local and regional authorities, through dialogue and collaboration, contribute to Ukraine's sustainable recovery and bring Ukraine closer to the EU.  

Structured around two sessions, the seminar will highlight successful cooperation initiatives such as between Zakarpattia (Ukraine) and Prešov (Slovakia) regions, draw attention to existing gaps and reflect on possible solutions for enhanced cross-border cooperation. It will also discuss opportunities under the Ukraine Facility and reflect on the relevant outcomes of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025 in Rome. 

Moderated by Zuzana Gabrižová, Chief Editor of Euractiv Slovakia, the seminar will feature panelists from the regional authorities of Prešov and Zakarpattia, the European Commission, journalists, academic and business representatives.  

Oleksii Riabykin, Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine has been invited to deliver a keynote address.
