The 10th meeting of Working Group on Ukraine of the Commission for Citizenship, Governance, Institutional and External Affairs (CIVEX) of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is taking place in Prešov, Slovakia on 28 November, co-organised alongside with our host, the Office of the Prešov Self-Governing Region.
Bringing together representatives from European institutions, Ukrainian authorities, and local and regional associations the meeting of the Working Group is planned to focus on key topics such as the state of the Ukrainian decentralisation reform and its impact on the EU accession process, as well as exchanging on the CoR’s Support to Ukraine, including via its 10-point support package to Ukraine, as well as the coordinated contribution to the Ukraine Recovery Conference by Local and Regional authorities from the EU and Ukraine.
The meeting is held a day after the meeting of the external seminar of the CIVEX Commission on "Ukraine's path to EU integration and recovery: the role of regional cross-border cooperation" on 27 November 2025 also in Prešov, Slovakia.
The discussions in the Working Group are to complement to the theme of the CIVEX external seminar which will highlight successful regional cooperation initiatives such as between Zakarpattia (Ukraine) and Prešov (Slovakia) regions, draw attention to existing gaps and reflect on possible solutions for enhanced cross-border cooperation. It will also discuss and highlight how national, regional, and local actors can work together to ensure a coordinated and sustainable recovery process for Ukraine.
