This meeting brings together public communication officials from OECD member and partner countries, as well as non-governmental stakeholders and experts. The meeting will provide a platform to exchange experiences and practical insights on advancing communication as a core lever for effective public governance.

Across OECD countries, governments are striving to deliver ambitious reforms amid rising expectations, declining trust, and an information ecosystem that amplifies division over dialogue. In this context, bringing people along has become essential for effective and durable policy implementation. Public communication can be a core enabler of delivery: it helps create common ground, foster constructive debate, and build shared understanding around complex and sometimes contested choices. However, cutting through to citizens in today's information landscape has become one of the main challenges for government communication.

This meeting will explore how people centred communication can support government delivery by clarifying reforms, listening to concerns, and creating the conditions for meaningful dialogue. The discussions will cover how institutions are innovating their approaches to reach all citizens in a context where algorithms, AI, and new patterns of engagement with communication channels continue to reshape how societies connect.
