ENVE works in fields related to the European Green Deal, which include the environment biodiversity, circular economy, zero pollution, climate change, energy, and space policies.
EUR 700 000 have been earmarked to finance, via a public funding line, initiatives by private entities and non-profit associations which aim to bring waste and waste-related materials back into production and to create jobs for people at risk of exclusion. A total of 13 projects have been funded relating to the composting of biowaste, the reuse of products, the recycling of waste for subsequent use as raw materials and the study of new ways of incorporating waste into the production cycle under a circular economy model. The project is expected to involve more than 6 000 tonnes of waste.
Likewise, all the projects have a clear social objective: the creation of jobs for socially excluded people or those at risk of social exclusion. Overall, it provides for the creation of more than 60 jobs for workers with "integration" contracts.
This initiative is currently in its final phase, reviewing the documents submitted by grant beneficiaries to verify that the intended objectives were achieved.
Due to the huge success of this type of aid, a second call amounting to EUR 1 500 000 will soon be issued, the aim of which will be to continue promoting circular economy initiatives with a significant social component relating to the management of waste produced in the Balearic Islands.
