Your job and responsibilities
Do you have a keen interest in Human Resources (HR), and, in particular, do you enjoy interacting with colleagues? Would you enjoy helping colleagues with administrative procedures, from their arrival at the Committee to their departure? This key position offers you the opportunity to play an active role in our unit.
Main tasks
Our ‘Financial entitlements and post-activity’ sector is responsible for the procedures regarding individual entitlements and provides an internal contact point with regard to departures and pensions, in collaboration with the PMO (Office for the Administration and Payment of Individual Entitlements) and the relevant departments of the European Commission. It also deals with obligations under the Staff Regulations, diversity and inclusion, as well as social dialogue.
Your tasks:
- Establishing individual entitlements in accordance with the provisions of Annex VII to the Staff Regulations.
- Acting as a contact point for pensions and departures, including in relation to the transfer of pension rights (IN/OUT) and unemployment allowances.
- Welcoming new staff members and preparing information sessions for their arrival.
Specific activities
This position involves organising your work autonomously – taking into account internal deadlines – between individual entitlements and the ‘pensions and post-activity’ front desk, representing around 50% of your time. Here is an overview of the main tasks:
- Administrative and operational management of files in accordance with the rules and procedures.
- Entering and validating data in the HR IT tools.
- Interpreting and applying the rules regarding rights and obligations.
- Assisting and advising staff members.
- Drafting articles for the HR newsletter (HR Update) and updating the relevant intranet pages.
Your contribution to a dynamic team
You will join a dedicated and dynamic team comprising a head of sector, a team leader and three administrative assistants. You will play a key role in welcoming new staff and handling their rights under the Staff Regulations. Under the supervision of your managers, you will be a key player in the ‘Financial entitlements and post-activity’ sector.

Job-specific requirements
- You have solid experience in human resource management or administrative management.
- You have excellent communication and organisational skills.
- You have a thorough knowledge of one of the official languages of the EU and a satisfactory knowledge of another of these languages. For operational reasons, a high level of French is required and a good level of English is desirable.
- You have a good command of IT applications and tools, such as Outlook, Excel, Word and SharePoint, including AI tools in a secure environment.
- You enjoy contact with staff and teamwork.
Assets
- Previous experience in human resource management would be a strong asset.
- Good knowledge of Annexes VII and VIII to the Staff Regulations is recommended.
