ENVE works in fields related to the European Green Deal, which include the environment biodiversity, circular economy, zero pollution, climate change, energy, and space policies.
The project will help to make Salzgitter stronger as a centre of industry and innovation over the long term. The transition to low-carbon production processes within companies is a model for many other industrial areas that are facing similar challenges.
In addition to the construction of industrial facilities, demonstration-scale units will also be built directly on campus and turned into a walk-through model of the Salzgitter hydrogen region. The sector coupling will also be mapped as a digital twin, making it possible to analyse and test interactions in simulations before constructing the demonstrators. Alongside the scientific knowledge gained from applied research projects, this infrastructure will be used in particular for vocational education and training, and for community education and information.
