The implementation and real proof of a sustainable city model that proposes to make the whole of Cartuja Island a fully decarbonised area by 2025 and to make it operate on 100% renewable energy.

​​The Cartuja eCity project is a collaborative project already involving 48 public- and private-sector bodies and is spearheaded by the regional government of Andalusia (through its Ministries of Finance and Economy), Seville City Council, the Cartuja Science and Technology Park (PCT Cartuja) and Endesa (the regional energy company).

Its aim is to make Cartuja Island a 100% sustainable and decarbonised enclave by 2025, twenty-five years ahead of the UN 2050 energy and climate goals.
