The Swedish regional EU offices in Brussels and the Swedish Association of Local and Regional level (SALAR) invite local and regional policy makers on regional development from all of Sweden to a conference on the EU's future long-term budget (MFF), to be in effect from 2028.

The conference on Regional development capital in change, will focus on the EU's future budget, tabled by the EU Commission in July 2025. The negotiations on the proposal are now intensifying, and the outcome will have a major impact on regional and local development work, where EU funding plays a crucial role. The most critical issues from a local perspective, and how Sweden's regions and municipalities want to contribute to shaping the future policy, will be highlighted.

The goal is to provide a basis for a regional and local dialogue in interaction with the Swedish national level, in order to form a broad Swedish position that support continued place-based EU tools for development in partnership between regional and national level and the EU.
