As part of the EU Local Dialogues initiative, Wojciech Saługa (PL/EPP), President of the Silesian Voivodeship, is organising a high-level debate bringing together the presidents of Polish regions to discuss the future of EU cohesion policy and regional funding after 2027. The event will take place at the International Congress Centre, Plac Sławika i Antalla 1, 40-163 Katowice, Poland.
Against the backdrop of negotiations on the EU’s next long-term budget, regional leaders will examine what model of European funds Polish regions need in the years ahead and what common position they should adopt in discussions on the future of cohesion policy. The debate will address key challenges facing Europe, including security, competitiveness, the green transition, infrastructure resilience and demographic change, while highlighting the importance of a strong, place-based cohesion policy that continues to empower regions and local communities.
The discussion will contribute to the broader European debate on ensuring that regions remain at the heart of future EU investment policies and decision-making processes.
