Stakeholder consultation on the CoR opinion - A simpler, clearer and better enforced EU rulebook

Matteo Luigi Bianchi (IT/ECR), member of the Local Executive of Morazzone (VA), will hold a stakeholder consultation on Thursday, 1 October 2026, from 9:30 to 11:00, in the framework of the preparation of the CoR opinion on A simpler, clearer and better enforced EU rulebook.  

The opinion reacts to the communication with the same title published by the European Commission in April this year, opening a new phase in the better regulation agenda for the entire lifecycle of legislation: proposals, impact assessments, consultations, implementation and enforcement. 

The consultation, based on the working document prepared by the rapporteur, aims at providing the rapporteur with comments and suggestions in view of the elaboration of the opinion, to be adopted by the CoR Plenary in February 2027. In fact, all the proposed initiatives should be seen in a way that respects local self-government, the principle of subsidiarity and the differentiated impact of legislation in different territories.

The consultation is open to representatives of regional offices and their associations, as well as other relevant stakeholders

The consultation will take place in hybrid format, at the CoR premises in room JDE51 and online on Teams. It will be held in English only, without interpretation.

Parties interested in participating are invited to register by 25 September 2026 at midnight, through the following EU Survey.
