Objective
To highlight bottlnecks facing LRAs and indicate areas where reinforced cooperation between the LRA and EU levels are required.
To emphasise the importance of combatting mobility poverty and ensuring an inclusive approach (connectivity of peri-urban and surrounding rural areas, inclusion by design).
To secure the participation of the CoR in the European Commission's reformed Expert Group on Urban Mobility (EGUM).
Impact
As an observer member of the European Commission's reformed Expert Group on Urban Mobility (EGUM), the CoR and will continue to support the uptake of these and other recommendations set out in the CoR opinion in the group's work on the preparation of the European Commission's future guidelines and policy recommendations in the field of urban mobility.

- calls for an EU-wide exchange of best practices on the affordability of public transport; further asks the European Commission to conduct a study on the feasibility of implementing a free public transport system across the EU in order to incentivise modal shift.
