In light of the ongoing housing crisis in Europe, energy-efficient building renovation is a key lever for reducing energy costs and increasing the supply of adequate housing. Commissioned by the French and German governments, the Franco-German Forum for the Future – in collaboration with local authorities and experts from France and Germany – has identified concrete measures to support socially just renovations and affordable housing.

Based on these insights, and in the presence of local project leaders, we will discuss with policymakers and experts how EU policy can effectively support local initiatives and benefit from their experiences to drive forward effective renovation and housing strategies.
