Kungsbacka Municipality adopted its chemical plan in March 2017. The plan includes an action plan to reduce the hazardous chemicals in the municipality's operations. Children's environments in preschool are particularly focused.
Chemicals are everywhere in our society. Some chemical substances can be harmful to our health and the environment. We must reduce these or completely remove them from the municipality's activities. The chemical plan identifies the types of substances we will phase out and in which areas we should put special focus on. The long-term goal is for Kungsbacka to be a non-toxic municipality.
Children's environments in preschool are priority.
Children are particularly sensitive to the influence of hazardous chemicals. Preschool is therefore a priority area for the work. The preschools have a guidance material that puts the chemical plan into practice. There is, among other things, advice on how to clean among plastic toys and how to think when cooking to the children.
