Street lighting accounts for a large share of electricity costs in the public sector, replacing 3 500 old lamps will save around EUR 120 000 a year, the city will no longer have to worry about replacing lamps, and the cost of electricity will be reduced by 60%.

​​​​​Street and public space lighting systems have been modernised in Tauragė city and district (more than 3500 luminaires have been replaced). The installed new smart LED luminaires use even half the electricity compared to the luminaires used before.

The total power of the old luminaires is 423.8 kW.

The total power of the new LED luminaires is 205.84 Kw.
