The 22nd COTER commission meeting will take place on Friday 9 February 2024. COTER members will discuss three opinions, starting with a discussion and vote on the opinion "Smart, sustainable and affordable housing as a tool for local authorities to face multiple challenges", prepared by rapporteur Andres JAADLA (ET/renew E.).

The following discussion and vote will be on the opinion "Proposing a European Declaration on Cycling" drafted by rapporteur Arianna Maria CENSI (IT/PES), focusing on the Communication from the European Commission to the European Parliament, the Council, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions, proposing a European Declaration on Cycling.

COTER members will also have the opportunity for an exchange of views with Piotr CAŁBECKI (PL/EPP), one of the co-rapporteurs of the NAT commission Opinion "The Future of the Common Agricultural Policy".

Besides the debates on the opinions mentioned above, COTER members will discuss the 2024 COTER commission work programme and the 2024 European Cross-Border Platform work programme.

There will be a debate on cohesion policy's successes on the ground with the participation of Castilla y León's (Spain) regional Minister for Mobility and Digital Transformation, María González Corral with whom our members can discuss the role of digitalisation for social and territorial cohesion.

Finally, members will be informed about communication on cohesion policy, with the participation of communication directors from managing authorities (tbc).
