The management plan drawn up during this project will be the key document underpinning the management of the two Natura 2000 sites concerned, by preserving their biodiversity and natural heritage, and – in addition – the project also aims to actively involve the local communities.
The project "Drawing up the integrated management plan for the Natura 2000 sites: Ciuc Mountains (ROSCI0323) and Ciuc Basin and Mountains (ROSPA0034)" is being carried out by the Pogány-havas Microregional Association and is co-financed by the European Union's European Regional Development Fund through the Large Infrastructure Operational Programme (LIOP).
The aim of the project is to lay the groundwork for the conservation of the species and habitats of EU interest in the Natura 2000 sites concerned. Through its stated purpose, the project will contribute to preserving the natural and cultural value of the Ciuc Mountains and Basin area for the benefit of the local communities. The objectives are to develop a viable management plan, raise public awareness, and strengthen the institutional capacity to manage the Natura 2000 sites.
