Upon the invitation of the North Rhine-Westphalia Hub (Germany), the Network of Regional Hubs held its annual external workshop in the city of Cologne on 6 and 7 June 2024.
Henriette Reker, Lord Mayor of Cologne, Nathanael Liminski, Minister for Federal and European Affairs, International Affairs & Media, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Mark Speich, Secretary of State for Federal, European and International Affairs and Media welcomed the Hubs.
On 6 June, the workshop kicked off with in-depth presentations and discussions on ongoing and past RegHub consultations. After that, the Hubs attended an interactive session on stakeholder engagement, conducted by Senior ResearcherMartin Unfried from the Maastricht University. This was followed by a discussion on better regulation and on the next EU policy cycle, as well as a panel debate on the future of cohesion policy. The next day's highlight was a visit of the WDR premises, with a discussion on the role of AI in (regional) media.
RegHub is grateful to its North-Rhine Westphalia contact point, Andreas Becker, and his colleagues for the excellent collaboration on the organisation of the workshop!
