As several countries across Europe face a demographic crisis defined by an ageing population and declining birth rates, ELFAC, together with the European Network of Family-Friendly Municipalities, is working to promote inclusive family policies for territorial development that reflect the social and economic interests of families with children.

By hearing directly from local leaders and municipalities across Europe about which practices have been effective and which have not, this conference aims to contribute to the development of a shared framework for family-friendly policies at local and regional level. These exchanges will help inform future EU policy discussions and support coordinated responses to Europe’s demographic challenges.

The event will highlight the role of municipalities in strengthening social cohesion, improving territorial attractiveness, and supporting families as a cornerstone of sustainable community development.
