Europe is at a critical juncture, where economic competitiveness, environmental sustainability and social wellbeing must be addressed together rather than in isolation. Against this backdrop, the ToBe and SPES projects jointly convene a high-level final conference in Brussels to advance the debate on sustainable and inclusive wellbeing in EU policymaking.

This final conference brings together policymakers, researchers, civil society and practitioners to present and discuss the key results of the Horizon Europe projects ToBe - Towards a Sustainable Wellbeing Economy and SPES - Sustainability Performances, Evidence, and Scenarios. The event will showcase innovative frameworks, indicators and modelling approaches that go beyond GDP, integrating environmental sustainability, social equity and economic resilience.

Building on three years of research, the conference will foster dialogue on how sustainable and inclusive wellbeing can be placed at the heart of EU policies, in line with the European Green Deal, the European Pillar of Social Rights and the EU’s strategic priorities for 2024–2029. Participants will explore concrete policy pathways to translate research evidence into actionable solutions for Europe’s long-term prosperity and societal wellbeing.
