Meeting of the Working Group on Defence

The inaugural meeting of the European Committee of the Regions’ Working Group on Defence marks a key step in ensuring that local and regional authorities are actively involved in shaping the European Union’s evolving security and defence agenda. The Working Group will provide a platform for inter-institutional cooperation,  exchange of best practices, and stronger territorial engagement in Europe’s collective security. The working group’s membership will consist of nine members, and it will be chaired by the President of the region of Murcia in Spain, Fernando López Miras.
