Who are we? What are the challenges for us ahead?

The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and the European Committee of the Regions (CoR), two advisory bodies of the European Union, have several joint services, including a Directorate for Logistics. More specifically, the Security and safety Unit is one of the three Units that make up the Directorate for Logistics and works for both the CoR and the EESC. This Unit, composed of about a dozen staff members and nearly a hundred external contractors specialized in these two fields, is responsible for, among other things:

  • Security: managing the security of people and property in the buildings of the two Committees, managing accreditations, etc.;
  • Safety: ensuring workplace well-being, including occupational safety, fire prevention, workplace ergonomics, managing accreditations, etc.
