As a campaign manager in the press sector, you are responsible for communication in relation to cohesion, one of the key political priorities of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR). 

You organise drafting press releases and other news items on the work of the CoR, its leadership and its members, in Italian and English with the focus on the work of Italian members.

You are also responsible for reporting/media relations on the COTER commission and cohesion policy in general; managing the media partnership with Agenzia Nazionale Stampa Associata (ANSA), liaising with journalists on content, providing information and inspiration where necessary; being the main liaison for written press during European Week of Regions and Cities; developing media programme for journalists present in association with the audiovisual team and the wider coordination team.   

You are part of the dynamic team of the press office, which consists of around 10 colleagues.

JOB-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • You have sound experience in and a strong track record in press and/or journalism, as well as institutional communication.
  • You have strong experience in leading communication campaigns, liaising with stakeholders within and outside the EU institutions as well as strong drafting skills. 
  • You have a thorough knowledge of one of the official languages of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another of the EU official languages. For functional reasons, a high level of Italian and English is required.
  • You have a good command of IT applications and tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.). 

 

ASSETS

  • Previous experience in media relations is a strong asset.
  • Understanding of the Italian media market is desirable.
