ENVE works in fields related to the European Green Deal, which include the environment biodiversity, circular economy, zero pollution, climate change, energy, and space policies.
We authorities can't do this alone. We need to work together and encourage residents to change their behaviour and their living environments.
No one can deal with climate change adaptation on their own. In the South-West Utrecht region, we are working on this issue with 17 public sector organisations. This collaborative network is called "Water & Klimaat" ("Water & Climate"). Every partner is responsible for their own local policy, but we don't all need to reinvent the wheel.
In Water & Klimaat, we work together on climate and water issues, exchange knowledge and experiences and inspire each other, including in relation to resident participation. We have an interactive website and encourage people to make their living environments (gardens and streets) green and water resilient. In this regard, we are working with municipal authorities, garden centres, gardeners, housing companies, NGOs, and so on.
