The event “Voice of the Community: Young and Old in Dialogue” is organised by Marija Šarić (HR/EPP) Mayor of the City of Pleternica, as part of EU STEM Week in the city. It aims to strengthen direct dialogue between citizens and local authorities and to raise awareness of the impact of EU-funded projects on local development.

The event will take place in a public space – the city market – ensuring accessibility and inclusion for all age groups, including children, young people, families, older citizens, entrepreneurs and agricultural producers.

Through an interactive Q&A format, citizens will have the opportunity to ask the Mayor direct questions about EU projects implemented in Pleternica and their contribution to infrastructure, education, digitalisation, entrepreneurship and quality of life.

The format promotes participatory democracy, transparency in local governance and civic engagement. A complementary activity, the “Your City, Your Ideas” feedback box, will allow citizens to submit ideas and suggestions.

Expected outcomes include increased awareness of EU-funded projects, strengthened trust between citizens and local authorities, and enhanced citizen participation in local decision-making processes.

The event is supported by Kindergarten Pleternica, the Croatian Library and Reading Room Pleternica, the Entrepreneurship Centre Pleternica, and E-Incubator Pleternica.
