“Rome, Europe and Cinema: Culture, Territories and New Opportunities” is an EU Local Dialogue organised by CoR member Fabrizio Santori (IT/ECR) in Rome, Italy, on 28 October 2026. The event will explore how the European Union, cities and regions can support the development of cultural and creative industries, promote territories and create new opportunities for younger generations through culture and cinema.
Held as part of the World Film Festivals Congress – CINETOUR, the dialogue will bring together institutional representatives, citizens, young people and professionals from the cultural and audiovisual sectors. Discussions will focus on the contribution of cinema and cultural initiatives to local development, European cooperation and territorial promotion, as well as on the opportunities that Europe can offer to the cultural and creative sectors and to young filmmakers. The programme includes contributions from representatives of European film festivals, national and regional authorities, and members of the European Committee of the Regions.
