The next Meeting of "the Platform" is organised by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL) in cooperation with the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU, hosted by the European Committee of the Regions.
The meeting will be opened by DG EMPL Director-General, the Polish Undersecretary of State and the representative of the European Committee of the Regions in the Platform.
The meeting is an opportunity for the Platform members to give their first contribution on three forthcoming EU strategic initiatives that will establish the future EU policy direction in the social policy area, and specifically on tackling poverty and homelessness: the new Action Plan of the European Pillar of Social Rights, the EU Anti-Poverty Strategy and the European Affordable Housing Plan.
The meeting will also look at the national and local dimensions of homelessness policies under the chair of the Polish Presidency and of the European Committee of the Regions respectively. The importance of the local and regional levels in the fight against homelessness, already highlighted by the European Committee of the Regions hosting the event, will be a horizontal theme of this event.
Finally, the Platform members will have the opportunity to discuss the new work programme of the Platform.
