Sopot Reset: Hacking the City. Workshops for Newly Elected Members of the Sopot Youth City Council

Organised by Magdalena Czarzyńska-Jachim (PL/EA), member of the European Committee of the Regions, this workshop is designed to bridge local youth spatial engagement in Sopot with broader European democratic values and urban governance frameworks. Participatory spatial design offers young citizens a direct voice in shaping their public realm, transforming abstract democratic principles into tangible civic action. The workshop explicitly integrates gender-aware data collection (such as gender-categorized perception tracking) and mandates the design of inclusive public spaces that accommodate diverse youth profiles, including young women, night-time users, and individuals with mobility impairments.
