The Wielkopolska Hydrogen Platform seeks to bring together its members and tap into their potential to create a low and zero-carbon economy. The WPW's work covers the following areas: business, local government leaders, science and citizens.
The Wielkopolska Hydrogen Platform (WPW) is an opinion-forming and advisory body of the Wielkopolska Regional Government, focussed on economic policies for low- and zero-emission technologies, including hydrogen. The WPW, set up by the Wielkopolska Regional Executive under a resolution from 30 May 2019, is a multi-faceted platform for cooperation between business, science, local government and NGOs.
In April 2023, the Wielkopolska Regional Executive adopted the Wielkopolska Hydrogen Strategy until 2030 with a perspective until 2040. The strategy is an analysis of the potential and opportunities for developing Wielkopolska's hydrogen economy.
The document sets out a vision of the Wielkopolska hydrogen ecosystem, the main objectives for 2030, indicators for planned development, the most optimistic courses of action with possibilities for renewable hydrogen production, industrial use, agriculture, transport, integration with the development of renewables, as well as current barriers and external factors affecting the development of the hydrogen economy.
The Wielkopolska Hydrogen Strategy until 2030 with a perspective until 2040 is the first of its kind at regional level in Poland.
