15th CORLEAP annual meeting on 14 September 2026 in Chişinău (Moldova)

The 15th annual meeting of the Conference of regional and local authorities for the Eastern Partnership (CORLEAP) will take place on Monday, 14 September 2026, in Chişinău, the capital city of the Republic of Moldova, a small country between Romania and Ukraine, with which it shares the recent EU candidacy. The meeting will be co-chaired by the CoR's Patrick Molinoz  (FR/PES) and Moldova's Constantin Cojocari. It is taking place back-to-back with the inaugural meeting of the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) between the CoR and Moldova. 
 
A number of high-level speakers, Moldovan and international, will address the meeting, including Alexei Buzu, Secretary General of Moldova's Government; Adrian Băluţel, Deputy Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of  Moldova's Parliament and the  Vice-President of the EuroNest Parliamentary Assembly; Konstantinos Koukas, President of the Chamber of Local Authorities, Vice-President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, and Amb. Iwona Piórko, Head of EU Delegation to Moldova.
 
The main topics to be discussed are the countering foreign information manipulation and interference and strengthening evidence-based policymaking at local and regional level in Eastern Partnership countries (EAP) countries. 
 
A long-expected Eastern Partnership academy for public administration at local and regional level (EPAPA) pilot project is to be launched at the meeting, giving a rare opportunity for civil servants in local and regional public administrations in EaP countries to follow an EU course specially designed for them.
