  • European territorial cooperation
  • Territorial cohesion

This event will bring together political representatives, European institutions and regional experts to discuss a common vision for the region and its role in the EU’s Multiannual Financial Framework for 2028–2034.

Despite being divided by three national borders, the Tri-Border Region forms an interconnected area with shared economic, social, environmental and cultural ties. Its communities face similar challenges, including demographic decline, limited accessibility, structural transformation and the need to retain young people and skilled workers. Moving from separate projects towards a joint development strategy would enable the three partner regions to address these challenges in a more coordinated and effective way.

The conference will focus on four strategic areas: talent and education; technology, innovation and industry; cross-border transport and infrastructure; and transformation, energy and resilience.

Participants will also explore opportunities for an integrated cross-border investment instrument and stronger institutional cooperation supporting jointly planned projects in the 2028–2034 period.

The event will conclude with a discussion on the next steps and a joint roadmap for 2027.
