Stakeholder Consultation on the CoR opinion

Please note that the CoR does not cover expenses and does not provide any allowance for attending this meeting.
The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is currently preparing an opinion on the communication from the European Commission ‘An EU Agenda for Cities: Driving Growth and Prosperity'.
The rapporteur for this opinion, Mr Kieran McCarthy, local councillor in Cork, Ireland, would be pleased to meet representatives of local and regional authorities and other relevant stakeholders for a consultation on the key issues addressed in this communication.
The European Commission (EC) presented on 3.12.2025 the EU Agenda for Cities as a strategic framework intended to strengthen the urban dimension of EU policymaking, improve coordination across EU policies and instruments, and support cities in implementing EU priorities through dialogue, simplification, and capacity-building. The draft opinion will be adopted at the meeting of the COTER commission on 24 June 2026 and at the CoR plenary on 13-14 October 2026.
You can already access the working document prepared by the rapporteur, in all languages on our website, which will be the basis for the preparation of the opinion and the discussion. The exchange will be interactive and primarily focused on stakeholders' input and presentation of their views on the subject.
